Most heated vests warm one strip of your back. This one wraps your collar, shoulders, chest, belly and back in carbon fiber heat, with a separate button for the back and the belly and six levels on each. The 20,000mAh battery is in the box, or choose it without if you already own one.

The first ten minutes of a cold morning are the worst. The car is cold, the dog wants out, and your coat has not caught up yet. Most heated vests answer with a warm patch on your back. This one wraps you.

Fifteen carbon fiber zones sit at the collar, both shoulders, the chest, the belly and three places on the back. Hold the button on the chest and it is warm in about thirty seconds. Then set the back and the belly on their own: high on the back for the walk to the car, low on the belly for the long drive, or the other way round. Six levels each, up to 149°F.

From the outside it is a good puffer vest: a windproof, water-resistant nylon shell, a stand-up collar with a drawcord, reflective trim on the zip and pockets, two zip hand pockets and an inner pocket for the battery. Wear it over a flannel on the porch or under a coat on the coldest days.

Unisex regular fit, cut to wear over a shirt or sweater and under a coat. Measured flat, in inches; allow about 1/2 in either way.

Heating: carbon fiber heating panels in 15 zones: collar, both shoulders, chest, belly and back. Two buttons, back and belly, six levels each, up to about 149°F (65°C). Warm in about 30 seconds. Overheat protection built in. GCC and CE certified by the maker.

Battery: 20,000mAh lithium polymer pack, about 3.6 x 2.6 x 1.3 in (92 x 65 x 33 mm), with a charge display. Up to 12 hours on the lowest setting; higher settings run shorter. With the "Without battery" option, use a 5V to 12V battery pack with the same plug. Not sure yours fits? Email us before you order.

Fabric and build: windproof, water-resistant nylon shell, insulated warm layer, carbon fiber heating layer and a smooth, slippery lining that glides over a sweater. Stand-up collar with drawcord toggle, full-length front zip and two zip hand pockets with reflective trim, inner battery pocket. Imported.

Care: take out the battery and tuck the cable into the inner pocket. Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle in a laundry bag, or hand wash. Hang to dry. Do not tumble dry, iron, bleach or dry clean.

How to use

1. Charge the battery fully before first use.
2. Connect the vest's cable to the battery and zip the battery into the inner pocket.
3. Press and hold the button on the chest for about 5 seconds until it lights up.
4. Press the Back or the Belly button to step through the six levels for each area.
5. Press and hold again to switch off, then unplug the battery.

Safety

• Start on the lowest level and check how it feels.
• Do not sleep while it is switched on, and do not use it on a child, or on anyone who cannot feel heat or switch it off themselves.
• Do not use it if the fabric, cable or battery is wet or damaged.
• If you have a health condition or reduced feeling in your skin, ask your doctor before using heat.

• Overheat protection. Built into the heating system to keep the panels from running too hot.
• Certified. The maker holds a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) and CE certification for this vest.
• Battery power, not the wall. It runs on its own rechargeable battery pack, never plugged into mains power.
• You set the warmth. Separate back and belly buttons, six levels each, and a long press switches everything off.
• Battery in its own pocket. The pack zips into an inner pocket, with the cable tucked away.
• Washable. Take the battery out, then machine wash cold on gentle in a laundry bag. Hang to dry, no tumble dryer.
• Seen in the dark. Reflective trim on the zip and both pockets.

Wrong size? Size exchanges are free: email us within 7 days of delivery and we ship the right size at no cost. No need to send the first one back. One exchange per order.

To return it for a refund, it needs to be unworn outside, unwashed and complete, with its cable and its battery if you chose it. Switching it on at home to test the heat is fine. Email hello@wintermae.com with your order number and we'll send the return address. Return shipping is paid by you, and a $15 restocking fee is taken from the refund on heated items. Refunds go back to your original payment method.

Need a different size? Same 7 days. Return shipping is paid by you, there is no restocking fee on an exchange, and we send the replacement once yours is on its way back.
